Ofsted June 2022

At Aspull Church Primary School we provide a curriculum with our children and their wellbeing at the heart of the intent, implementation and impact of all subject areas. A curriculum that has meaning for our children and enriches their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm.

Our school values of faith, hope and love are embedded in all aspects of school life, including our curriculum design. Progression and continuity are carefully planned for, focusing on key knowledge and skills for each subject. The staff at Aspull Church Primary School developed three curriculum drivers that shape the curriculum for our children.

  • Aspirations- to have high aspirations for the future and feel empowered to achieve their full potential with a comprehensive knowledge of the world.
  • Diversity- to have respect and knowledge of other cultures and environments, including their own.  Using this to make a positive contribution to the school, local and wider community.
  • Resilience- to be happy, confident learners with a growth mindset that can deal with challenges and barriers in a positive way.

These key aspects shape and drive our broad and balanced curriculum that gives our children the opportunity to learn and thrive. We want our children to be happy, kind, responsible and respectful citizens that make a positive contribution to their community and the world. We want the children to recognise and embrace the infinite possibilities in life and "We shine like stars to achieve and make a difference in the world, knowing that with God, all things are possible".
