Mental Health and Wellbeing

"Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest'."

Matthew 11:28

At Aspull Church Primary School, we are committed to supporting the positive mental health and wellbeing of our school community. We recognise that mental health and emotional wellbeing is just as important in our lives as our physical health. We emphasise the importance of staff wellbeing as a prerequisite for the wellbeing of the children they teach and support. Staff are trained in mental health awareness so they can better support children in our school. It is important to us to promote in-school support for children with mild and moderate mental health needs and have clear signposting to further help and resources for those who may need it. We endeavour to ensure that children are able to manage times of change and stress. We aim to ensure that they are supported to reach their potential or access help when they need it. We also have a role in ensuring that children learn about: what they can do to maintain positive mental health; what affects their mental health; how they can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and where they can go if they need help or support.

Parents or carers should approach their child/children’s class teacher if they have any mental health concerns. There are some links below that offer further support to school and families.
